counting stars

Earlier this week my package from Chicnova arrived and naturally, I was super excited to open it. I'd never ordered anything from them before, so I had no clue about the quality of the clothing etc. However, I had high expectations as I think some of the stuff on the website is a bit on the pricier side. Anyway, I'm happy with everything. All fits good and seems a fairly good quality(apart from the belt, which I think will break soon, but it was a freebie anyway).
Earlier today when I was drinking my coffee, it started snowing. I got super excited and grabbed my camera immediately to take a few pictures. Christmas is my favorite holiday after all, and the only real Christmas is a white one, at least for someone from up north.
I've started youtube again properly, and I hope you'll all go and subscribe to my channel Melnatalks, where I'll be uploading anything from daily vlogs to short film-like things. A Christmas market vlog will be up later today, hopefully, and the sweater weather tag later this week.

I think I'm actually going to manage to finish my nano. I've got 9,900 words left to write and then I'm done. Or more like, then I can start editing like a crazy person.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well!
Until next time...

let's tressellate.

Photo-project I did for my art course this school period. The task was to take pictures of something familiar to you and then experiment with layouts to create a photo-montage thingy. I took these pictures at the old RCM café right when school started. Oh, I miss the feeling of late summer, autumn makes my bones ache.

mellan ett & noll

Foggy mornings are one of my favorite things to take pictures of. I just love the fact that everything looks like a ghost town. I can't even imagine what an actual abandoned town would look like in the hours of fogginess, probably haunting. The mint jumper is from the flea market, and I adore the retro feeling of it.

I discovered that writing about the good stuff is more painful than writing about the bad, weird huh? I guess that's why I haven't made any progress on my book lately... I need to feel inspired again, the question is: when will I?

rather quiet.

My neighborhood is almost too idyllic // lets try make it surreal.

Not much has happened this week, it's been rather quiet I must say.
I live to write and I've written more than usual lately.
I'm taking this blog into a new direction.
Artsier, possibly \\

a breather

Spent the day at one of my favorite cafe with some of my favorite people. Had a lovely time drinking rediculous amounts of coffee and talking about everything and anything. Should probably make a habit of this, as you sort of forget to take a breather when life gets hectic. There's always time for coffee... Anyways, I just really want to go to bed right now, so I won't write a massive amount today. I think the pictures speak for themselves. I'm wearing a beige cardigan which is 2nd hand and a dress from asos, if you're wondering.

Tomorrow is my gig... I'm nervous //

Not much left of warmer weathers.

I was offered the opportunity to play a gig at TELMU's Flying Carpet stage at a small local festival called Musapiknik. I invited a few friends to come along and chill with me throughout the day, as I wanted to support all the other artists playing. I didn't have much of an audience, so I didn't want the rest to be in the same awkward situation playing for close to no one.
That day, I was dealing with quite a lot of personal issues and I was worried that the songs in my setlist would trigger some sort of emotions. However, everything went pretty smooth.

So, there's not much left of the summer anymore. Actually, I'm taking the bus to school in about 15 minutes. It feels like the summer hasn't lasted long enough and I wish I could re-live certain moments of it. I think it's pretty safe to say that 2013 summer has been the best one so far.

I also have my first band-practice today, and I think I might blog about it later... unless the guys are enormously shy and don't want to be shown on the blog(which I highly doubt, as band members).

a look inside my sketchbook

A little look inside my sketchbook. No super exciting works, as these are only doodles I make whenever I'm bored and not usually planned. Whenever I create, I don't tend to have a plan on what the artwork is going to be. I guess I just let my mind wander and usually something pretty random comes out of it.

My favorite medium, as you probably can see is just ink on paper. However, when I feel like it I also do acrylic paintings. That rarely happens though, as I don't always have canvases laying around to paint on. pen and paper is just so much less effort, yet equally pleasing to the eye in my opinion.

I don't have a lot of finished works. This is because I have a hard time working on a piece for a long time. I'm one of the people who enjoy the process of creation more than the actual finished piece, so therefore I tend to start a new sketch before I've even finished the old one...

On a random note, I just dyed my hair dark brown, a few pictures below.
